Case Study: Homebase

Summary

As a new supplier to Homebase our first projects to be allocated were the Storage & More concept in to Harrogate and Leeds. The requirement was to supply a Project Manager and a team of Gondola Installers with joinery capabilities and Merchandisers over a 5 day period to create an area in the store for the implementation of the Storage & More area.

Challenges

The main challenge faced during this project was creating the initial space, which meant that a number of categories including Cleaning and existing Storage had to be de-stocked and temporarily located in order to do this. Additionally, the Bluestones team had to ensure that the project was planned and implemented safely and considerately as the stores were still trading during this period.

Results

We achieved the project within the 5 day allocated period and delivered to a great standard. Homebase comments were: “The teams were fantastic, always came with solutions to a problem and they are an asset to Bluestones One.”

What does a typical day at work look like for you?It can be very varied from one day to the next, but my priority is ensuring our customers receive best in class service from us. What do you find challenging?Last minute changes to plans or schedules can be challenging, but this can also be rewarding when the project lands and you know the changes were for the best. Meet Richard Jones – Account Manager

Tell us about your role at Bluestones One My role at Bluestones One is Account Manager. How would you normally start your day at work? My day starts with touching base with teams, checking emails and reports from the previous day/night. What does a typical day at work look like for you? Liaising with customers either via phone, Teams meetings and site visits discussing existing and up and coming work. Interacting with the Installation and Merchandising teams on ongoing projects. Making sure the teams on the shopfloor have everything they need to complete the tasks onsite and supporting them throughout the day. Working with our Resource Planning team to ensure all future projects are planned as per the customer’s requirements. What do you find challenging? The changing nature of our industry can often be challenging, but has the added benefit of no two days being the same! What do you enjoy about the role?
