We are delighted to announce that Daniel Parker has been named Employee of the Month for June, in recognition of his exceptional contributions to the B&Q Bathroom Neutron project.

Daniel, who works as one of our team leaders, has consistently demonstrated outstanding performance since the project’s inception. However, it was his remarkable efforts over the past month that truly set him apart, earning him this well-deserved accolade.

The nomination, put forward by Andy Smethurst, highlights Daniel’s numerous achievements and the impact he has made on the project’s success. His work has garnered impressive feedback from both store-level staff and senior leadership within B&Q, underscoring the breadth of his influence.

One of Daniel’s most notable accomplishments has been his flawless execution of store deliveries. To date, he has successfully completed several store implementations, none of which have required any follow-up visits – a testament to his meticulous attention to detail and commitment to getting things right the first time.

Colleagues have consistently praised Daniel’s communication skills, describing them as “always on point”. His proactive approach to problem-solving has been particularly valuable to the project. When faced with challenges, Daniel has shown initiative in resolving issues locally wherever possible, promptly informing the relevant parties of his actions. For more complex situations, he has demonstrated his strategic thinking by presenting multiple well-considered options, allowing for informed decision-making at higher levels.

Daniel’s leadership qualities have not gone unnoticed by his team members, who speak highly of his management style. His ability to motivate and guide his team has resulted in consistently high-quality project completions, further cementing his reputation as an exceptional leader.

Perhaps most impressively, Daniel’s reputation for excellence has begun to precede him. Stores are now specifically requesting his involvement in their projects, a clear indication of the trust and respect he has earned within the B&Q organisation.

We extend our congratulations to Daniel Parker for this well-deserved recognition. His dedication, skill, and leadership have not only contributed to the success of the B&Q Bathroom Neutron project but have also set a high standard for excellence within our organisation.

We are grateful for his contributions and look forward to his continued success.

In memory of Harry Stringer

In loving memory of Harry Stringer On Monday the 7th March 2022, we lost one of our most loved site supervisors. Harry passed away suddenly after suffering a heart attack 1 week prior to his passing. Harry was a much loved and well respected mentor and friend in the retail merchandising world and in particular the D.I.Y sector. Harry made his debut in the retail industry working for Homebase in 1987 where he served for 20 years in roles such as Store Manager and in the later part of his Homebase career in the Store Format team. Harry then moved on to work for several Merchandising and Installation companies completing roles mainly working on Format Projects for B&Q. Harry was versatile and would do whatever role was required of him whether it be Site Supervisor, Retail Change Partner, Siers Supervisor or Team Leader. Over the last 12 years Harry worked for Dee Set and most recently Bluestones One. He will be sadly missed and we send our condolences to all of Harry’s family and friends. RIP Harry. Here’s what Bluestones One Director, Gary Lowe had to say shortly after Harry’s passing: “We are all shocked and devastated by the sad
