In loving memory
On Monday the 7th March 2022, we lost one of our most loved site supervisors.
Harry passed away suddenly after suffering a heart attack 1 week prior to his passing.
Harry was a much loved and well respected mentor and friend in the retail merchandising world and in particular the D.I.Y sector. Harry made his debut in the retail industry working for Homebase in 1987 where he served for 20 years in roles such as Store Manager and in the later part of his Homebase career in the Store Format team.
Harry then moved on to work for several Merchandising and Installation companies completing roles mainly working on Format Projects for B&Q. Harry was versatile and would do whatever role was required of him whether it be Site Supervisor, Retail Change Partner, Siers Supervisor or Team Leader.
Over the last 12 years Harry worked for Dee Set and most recently Bluestones One.
He will be sadly missed and we send our condolences to all of Harry’s family and friends.

“We are all shocked and devastated by the sad news about Harry, he was one of the nicest most sincere people you could ever wish to know and will be sorely missed by everyone that had the pleasure to know Harry. I have personally known Harry for over 20 years and had the pleasure to call him a friend. When I met Harry all those years back in Homebase I was instantly drawn to his charismatic personality. I will miss him both personally and professionally”
Harry held strong family values and would always talk about his loved ones with pride, whether it be his wife Barbara, son Daniel, or (as he called them) his amazing grandkids. When he wasn’t working or spending quality time with his family, he would be following his home town football team, Liverpool FC, following them and supporting them through the good times and the bad. That was Harry through and through, whether things were going well in life, work or facing difficult times, Harry persevered and never gave up. He kept a smile on his face and kept on stepping forward!
Funeral arrangements are still being made currently and as soon as we have an update we will let everyone know when and where this will take place as well as the families wishes around making donations etc.

Thank you for all your kind words about my dad its amazing to see how many lives he touched and how many ppl respected him and how many people he helped. There truly was no other person like my pops and all of us in the family are truly devastated. All your kind words and support have been truly amazing I hope to see u all at the funeral to raise a toast to my pops. Miss you dad love ya.
Me and Harry became friends in 1st year Senior school (All Hallows) after an argument over 5 pence haha. We sat together for lunch every day, as Harry didn’t like chips (then) he always gave me his portion. We stayed best mates right through senior school and some years after, sadly we lost touch, until Facebook that is. I thought of him regularly and hoped we’d have a catch up soon over a pint, sadly that never transpired, I’ll raise a glass for you Harry me arl mate, love ya ❤
Harry was a top guy,Always had time for people in or out of work,Was a pleasure to work with the big man..He was one of the best guys you could ever meet.He will be missed

I’ve known Harry for many, many years ,not sure who followed who through our journey in Retail, every time I had a project and ‘Big H’ was on the list it was a sigh of relief that I new my night shift was in safe hands. I was shocked and saddened to hear the sad news last week and send condolences to Harry’s family. I will miss you ,Big H. XX

Harry worked for me over the years in various projects all over the country. It was always a pleasure to work with him, he was a great leader and always happy to support.
He will be sadly missed in B&Q and my thoughts are with his family in this sad time

I am Harry’s youngest brother Paul, we are all still in total shock of what has happened. But hearing the many kind words and tributes to him is really helping us get through this nightmare. So thank you everyone for the kind words, the whole family really appreciates it.
I have had the pleasure of knowing Harry 27 plus years. An absolute gentleman & a truly amazing man. Although Harry is no longer walking this earth, he will always be remembered in our hearts forever. Rip Harry Stringer. 🙏 😘

Harry was a great colleague, a mentor and a friend. He always braught a cheer with him no matter what job we did. I first met him when he was a senior TL/ projects for B&Q at deeset, he encouraged me when i needed it and that’s who he was: he was kind, fair and a natural leader. he put people in their place when they needed it and was quick to help anyone whether it be a personal or professional matter he was there ready to listen. He was my friend and he helped me when i needed it, he cared a great deal about his fellow workers and voiced any concerns we had and made people feel like they mattered. I will miss him as will many others and i send my deepest condolences to his family. Rest in peace Harry.
