Training and services to improve business productivity and efficiency.
What makes us different
Bluestones One Improvement Performance combines different methodologies to learning, such as training workshops, conferences and events, best practice techniques and ideas sharing, all focused on helping an individual to improve and have effective professional development.
As Six Sigma and Lean specialists, we also support businesses and provide training to make their processes and procedures efficient and effective, ultimately saving money. The goal is for our clients to achieve delivery of near-perfect products or services, through reducing defects and variation so that processes are more consistent and predictable.
We are also CPD accredited, allowing us to pass our knowledge onto our partners and clients.
How we uniquely deliver it
We access the quality of core tools which are used during the development phases of new product introduction (NPI) and during certain events such as experienced failure or engineering changes. We then provide employers with the necessary training or services to combat any problems.
This quality core tools methodology harmonises and links the inputs and outputs of the core tools to one another. Unlike many who see the tools as independent, we understand that linked tools increase their value to one another and reduce overall workload.
Our bespoke training and processes
Lean Awareness Elements
Lean thinking has become a widely adopted improvement approach that can greatly simplify processes and improve performance in both manufacturing and service organisations. All the Lean awareness elements can be delivered flexibility to suit business needs – whether your company requires delivery of all the elements or a tailored package, we can create bespoke training to match your requirements.
or any lean system, helps to eliminate waste, streamline production, and optimise efficiencies. The key benefits of 5S include less waste (improved efficiency) and reduced space used for storage.
Improved skills for implementing corrective action. Better ability to identify necessary systemic changes and subsequent inputs for change. More candid and open communication in problem-solving discussions and increasing effectiveness.
Kaizen focuses on creative solutions instead of capital expenditures. Kaizen – a Japanese term, often translated as ongoing, continuous improvement, is the strategy for making continuous improvements in all functions of an organisation. It focuses on improving the process rather than achieving certain results.
As a result of utilising this approach to the Practical Problem-Solving tools, companies report seeing reoccurring problems eliminated, reduced costs, and a highly effective and engaged workforce.
Advantages of using Kanban revolve around productivity and efficiency, two concepts that also tie back to the reduction of waste. The Kanban system focuses on the reduction of waste in all its forms: over-production, unnecessary motion, defects, over-processing and waiting.
There are potential benefits of successful TPM implementation in any organisation or industry. Productivity will be improved by reducing all major losses in the plant and quality will be improved by reducing all types of defects and malfunctions.
Quality Core Tools
The Quality Core Tools are used during the Product and Process Development phases of New Product Introduction (NPI) and during certain events such as experienced failure or engineering changes. Delivery of the Quality Core Tools is completely flexible, meaning businesses can pick and choose the elements which best match their current requirements.
Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) is a structured approach which identifies potential failure modes and resulting effects, coupling them with potential causes of failure. A technical risk level is assigned to each combination.
The control plan is a document that describes the actions (measurements, inspections, quality checks or monitoring of process parameters) required at each phase of a process to assure the process outputs will conform to pre-determined requirements to either error proof, mistake-proof or detect the failure or cause.
Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) is a toolbox of methods and techniques which are used to assure product quality by communicating requirements, specifications and risks. APQP is a structured approach to product and process design which facilitates communication between suppliers, design communities and customers.
Quality Core Tools
Statistical Process Control uses the primary statistical principals of Central Tendency (Mean, Median and Mode) and Variation (Spread or Standard Deviation). A process under study will reveal if it is operating in a stable and predictable way or in control.
Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) is a standardised process in the automotive and aerospace industries. PPAP demonstrates through documentation that as manufactured, the product and process perform as specified by design intent and purchasing requirements.
Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA) is an experimental process which determines the viability of an evaluation/measurement technique for use on a specific part characteristic. The need to make quality decisions is the most important aspect of quality assurance and control.
The Advanced Six Sigma tools and techniques are beneficial to both businesses and individuals, by refining processes and offerings, which leads to high customer satisfaction.
After gaining Six Sigma training, companies will experience increased bottom line cost savings, a unified workforce, the efficient use of resources, boosted reputation and increased customer satisfaction. Benefits individuals will experience include, honed skills, increased confidence, transferable skills set and a recognisable qualification.
What is the role of a Six Sigma Yellow Belt?
Six Sigma is a cost-effective method used by many corporations to eliminate process defects and reduce wasted time, increase customer satisfaction and improve business workflow. Six Sigma training is designed to help develop company employees into a stronger workforce. There are no prerequisites to Yellow Belt training. People who would like a more thorough introduction to Six Sigma and see the techniques it teaches as constructive and profitable for their business will benefit from undergoing Yellow Belt training.
What is the role of a Six Sigma Green Belt?
When the principles of Six Sigma are applied to a business project, that project is referred to as a Six Sigma project and every Six Sigma level will have a specific role to play in it. Roles are clearly defined so that the process will move forward faster and more efficiently with fewer errors. Six Sigma Green Belts are best suited to individuals who spend time improving processes within their teams. They are trained to analyse problems related to quality and efficiency, and then tasked with solving them using lean or other methods.
What is the role of a Six Sigma Black Belt?
Black Belt Six Sigma status indicates that you are a Six Sigma project leader – that you are comfortable using a variety of statistical tools to measure and analyse processes, identify problems and plan improvements. By running simulations or piloting these improvements, you can then confidently implement process control systems to improve and maintain consistent outcomes. Holding a Six Sigma Black Belt also indicates that you have successfully implemented similar projects before and that you can manage a Six Sigma project team effectively.
