Summary

Bluestones One supported Sainsbury’s in their 10th new supermarket this year, supplying skilled teams for merchandising, managing equipment, and pricing.

The 29,000 sqft building is a great investment into the economy of the North East. The new supermarket included the opening of Argos, TU, a full food range, fresh produce, and much more.

Results

The store was completed and opened on time, with all merchandising and systems tasks completed to a high standard. There was collaborative working with store colleagues, shop fitters, and the project management team to ensure a smooth handover to the Store Manager for opening day. Bluestones One received glowing reports from all stakeholders for the delivery of the project!

Oswald Sibanda wins Employee of the month for July

We’re proud to announce Oswald Sibanda as Bluestones One’s Employee of the Month for July

At Bluestones One, we take pride in recognising dedication, talent and individuals who consistently go above and beyond. For the month of July, we are pleased to announce that Oswald Sibanda has been selected as our Employee of the Month.

Oswald made an immediate impact during his first assignment with Wickes. He demonstrated a quick grasp of the systems, adapted seamlessly to new processes and approached every task with enthusiasm and determination. His positive attitude and commitment to learning have stood out, making him a valued member of the team from day one.

Nominated by George Mazzoncini, Oswald’s contribution was described as follows:

“Oswald did amazing on his first Wickes. He picked up everything very quickly and in a short time learned how to use their systems. His enthusiasm is contagious and an asset to Bluestones. He communicates well with management and becomes approachable very quickly. Also, his need for more knowledge is second to none. I can only praise his work ethic and friendliness to myself and everyone around him.”

Case Study – ASDA Cake Shop Project

Summary

Bluestones One were proud to support Asda when they confirmed the exit of their old in bay Cake Shop stand. Bluestones One were asked to execute this project from start to finish by coordinating the fixture order and delivery, providing an engagement brief, execution in store and finally removal and recycling of all waste and old equipment. Working in partnership with the fixture suppliers and Asda distribution centres Bluestones arranged exact equipment dates, communicated and briefed to stores what they were required to prepare and then installed the new equipment the next night.

Challenges

Bluestones One worked closely with both the equipment suppliers and Asda distribution centres and communicated to every store creating a roll out plan and programme that ensured the equipment was delivered on time, the stock removed ahead and the new equipment installed the next evening. Co ordinating the install around every stores operational hours to avoid any overtime requirements minimised store disruption and reduced any impact to sales.

Results

The project was completed on time and within budget and all merchandising, racking and equipment returned back to standard.

Bluestones One received positive feedback from the customer and as a result further orders have now been placed.

Richy Roberts wins Employee of the month for June

We’re delighted to announce Richy Roberts as Bluestones One’s Employee of the Month for June!

While working on one of our client sites, Richy went above and beyond his duties by stepping in to help a customer in distress. Although it was not part of his role, he took the time to comfort and console her, demonstrating genuine empathy and care. His actions made a meaningful difference and reflect the values we strive to uphold.

Richy’s calm approach, strong sense of responsibility, and willingness to do the right thing have earned him the appreciation of both his colleagues and management. His natural leadership has also continued to shine through in his day-to-day role as Team Leader, where he consistently supports his team and contributes to the successful delivery of projects.

He is a role model for professionalism, kindness, and initiative. Richy embodies the qualities that Bluestones One is proud to recognise and promote across the business.

Bluestones One have been supporting Sainsburys in their 1st new supermarket in 2025, supplying dedicated skilled personnel for merchandising, POS, managing equipment and pricing. The 19,000 sq ft building opened in May in Felixstowe, also part of the new supermarket was the opening of the Argos ‘store in store’ with great success.

We’re delighted to announce Brian Gudgin as Bluestones One’s Employee of the Month for May!

Over the past few weeks, Brian has gone above and beyond in his role, making a significant impact at B&Q. He has been instrumental in supporting new starters and helping them settle into their roles with confidence. In addition, he stepped up to cover the Project Manager position and delivered excellent results.

Brian’s calm professionalism, proactive mindset, and willingness to take on extra responsibility under pressure have earned him the respect and appreciation of both colleagues and management. Even while facing personal health challenges, Brian has continued to perform at the highest level. He has also played a key role in coaching team members like Tonianne Adamson and keeping project delivery on track.

He has been a mentor, a problem-solver, and a steady presence on site. Brian represents the leadership, resilience, and teamwork that Bluestones One is proud to champion.

Summary

Supermarket Sainsbury’s has once again stressed that it will “put food back at the heart” of its business. In the latest strategy update, we have recently supported Sainsbury’s Scarborough by reducing the general merchandise and clothing range in order to install more food choices within the store, including new freezer and fridge installations.

Case study – Ecolab Pest Prevention Project

Summary

Bluestones One were proud to support the pest control experts Ecolab by helping them to gain access to install complex and sophisticated netting that prevents pigeons and other birds accidently gaining access into retail stores, warehouses and outlets. Working in partnership with Ecolab fitters and the store managers Bluestones One coordinated removing stock and racking and equipment to gain access and minimise the distribution to customers and store staff.

Challenges

Bluestones One worked closely with both Ecolab and the stores to create a phasing plan that ensured that ranges were removed in co-ordination with stock deliveries and traffic movement so that the store operation was not disrupted and stock was kept on sale for customers at all times.

Results

The project was completed on time and within budget and all merchandising, racking and equipment returned back to standard.

Bluestones One received very positive feedback from the customer and client and further orders have now been placed..

Case study – Tesco F&F

Our teams have been supporting Tesco with their seasonal Back to School and Christmas campaigns for over 10 years. We supply dedicated personnel to assist the F&F clothing department during their busiest seasonal periods, working in partnership with Tesco store teams to ensure all aspects of the project are covered.
