What is it like to work for Bluestones One? We spoke to Angie Little, Senior Team Leader, to find out about her experiences and what she does on a daily basis.
When did you start working for Bluestones One?
How did you find out about the positions at Bluestones One?
I heard that Bluestones One were a great company to work for, so I got in contact with the team to find out more.
What do you enjoy about working for Bluestones One?
I enjoy the different contracts you get to work on. Some, like everything, are quite tasking but to see the end result is a massive acheivement. The people you have working along side you make a difference too.
What opportunities have you been given since working for Bluestones One?
Most of the training, if not all of it, is on the job training. I started as a merchandiser and worked my way through to Senior Team Leader. Everyone is given the same opportunities as everyone else, so it’s up to you how far up the ladder you want to go.
What do you do in a typical work day?
I introduce myself and my team to either the store manager or project manager and tell them what we are there to do. After that I have a walk around the store, familarising myself with what needs to be done. From there, I either prioritise what needs doing first or take instructions from the project manager. Then I brief the team on what we need to achieve on that night, split the jobs between the team and make sure everyone understands their job.
Would you recommend this job to your friends and family?
Yes. It is hard work, but if you’re willing to put in the effort it is enjoyable. The people you work with make a massive difference to your working life. Twelve-hour shifts are not for everyone and travelling to and from different jobs can be tiring and long. But, I don’t think I could go back to doing a 9 – 5 job after doing this. I enjoy what I do.
