Summary

Bluestones One Retail were selected to support Ikon Ltd with the Installation of carton flow shelving into Alliance Healthcare Nottingham.

150 carton flows were required to increase productivity and picking rate.

Challenges

The Bluestones team were requested to work around the existing shift patterns to ensure minimal disruption.

We were tasked to complete the work over five weeks with specific site “quiet times” supplied to us. This enabled us to plan our work efficiently and to complete the work on time.

Results

We delivered this Installation on time and within budget with fantastic feedback from not only Ikon Ltd but also Alliance Healthcare.

Meet Garry Leck: Lead Resource Co-ordinator

Tell us about your role at Bluestones OneI am the Lead Resource Coordinator and have been with Bluestones One for almost three years now. I started out in the field as a Merchandiser, then moved up to Team Leader before I got offered a permanent role within the office. I spend most of my time based in our North East office where we run a small team responsible for allocating the work to the field staff. On a day to day basis, we allocate the work and resources needed for each job site. How would you normally start your day at work?The start of each day is different and led by what has happened the previous night. The main priority is to resolve any day to day challenges or additional requests generated by the night teams. Once resolved we can move onto the planning of the following days and weeks. What does a typical day at work look like for you?A typical day is mainly dealing with enquiries generated on-site whilst trying to organise the following weeks. If we can get everyone into a job they like with people they enjoy working with, our job is made so much easier.

In memory of Harry Stringer

In loving memory of Harry Stringer On Monday the 7th March 2022, we lost one of our most loved site supervisors. Harry passed away suddenly after suffering a heart attack 1 week prior to his passing. Harry was a much loved and well respected mentor and friend in the retail merchandising world and in particular the D.I.Y sector. Harry made his debut in the retail industry working for Homebase in 1987 where he served for 20 years in roles such as Store Manager and in the later part of his Homebase career in the Store Format team. Harry then moved on to work for several Merchandising and Installation companies completing roles mainly working on Format Projects for B&Q. Harry was versatile and would do whatever role was required of him whether it be Site Supervisor, Retail Change Partner, Siers Supervisor or Team Leader. Over the last 12 years Harry worked for Dee Set and most recently Bluestones One. He will be sadly missed and we send our condolences to all of Harry’s family and friends. RIP Harry. Here’s what Bluestones One Director, Gary Lowe had to say shortly after Harry’s passing: “We are all shocked and devastated by the sad
